Introduction
Circado ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly:
- Health Data: Weight, height, age, meals, calorie intake, protein consumption, sleep duration and quality, workout information, and slip-up logs.
- Account Information: If you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID, email address (if shared), and display name.
- Settings: Your personal goals, notification preferences, and app configuration.
Apple HealthKit
With your permission, Circado can read and write data to Apple HealthKit:
- Read: Body weight, height, sleep analysis, workout data
- Write: Weight measurements
HealthKit data is never stored on our servers. It remains on your device and in your personal HealthKit database. We do not sell or share HealthKit data with third parties.
How We Store Your Data
Local Storage: All your health data is stored locally on your device by default using Apple's secure storage.
Cloud Sync (Optional): If you sign in with your Apple ID, your data may be synced to Google Firebase servers to enable backup and multi-device access. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Third-Party Services
We use the following services:
- Firebase Authentication: For secure sign-in with Apple ID
- Firebase Firestore: For optional cloud data storage
- Firebase Crashlytics: To identify and fix app crashes (no personal data is collected)
- Firebase Analytics: To understand app usage patterns (anonymized data only)
These services are provided by Google and are subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as you use the app. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through Settings → Delete Account.
Upon account deletion:
- All cloud data is permanently deleted
- Local data is removed from your device
- This action cannot be undone
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Delete your account and all data
- Disconnect HealthKit integration at any time
- Use the app without cloud sync (guest mode)
Children's Privacy
Circado is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
